Meet Narii: The Rising Caribbean Voice Blending Soul, Strength, and Storytelling
Barbadian artist Narii is quickly making waves with her soulful blend of Caribbean rhythm and R&B emotion.
At just 23, she’s already building a name for herself as a storyteller through music — an
“island girl” with a message that runs deeper than the surface. Born and raised in Barbados, Narii grew up surrounded by the infectious sounds of dancehall and soca, while drawing inspiration from American R&B icons like Rihanna, who also happens to be from her same neighborhood.
Her musical journey began at just seven years old, influenced by her late father, a singer and guitarist. Singing in church honed her voice, and by high school, she was already writing her own songs — turning pain and experience into art. After a brief hiatus, Narii is now making a bold comeback with her latest single “Papi,” an experimental track that celebrates her Latin roots and playful creativity. Though she hasn’t released a full project yet, each single she drops reveals a new side of her sound and story.
Through her music, Narii aims to share her truth — growing up in poverty, losing loved ones, and overcoming immense personal struggles. She wants listeners to see beyond appearances and connect with her real journey of survival and self-discovery. “People think they know me from Instagram,” she says, “but my music tells the real story.”
Looking ahead, Narii dreams of inspiring millions through her art, traveling the world, and one day meeting her idol Rihanna. Fans can expect more music soon — including a special Christmas single, new releases leading up to her debut album, and alternative versions of Papi like an acoustic and techno remix coming out in the next few days. With her honesty, resilience, and undeniable talent, Narii is proving she’s not just another artist from the islands — she’s a voice the world needs to hear.
